Phone Case Review

I was recently contacted by the team at MrNutcase, asking if I wanted to review one of their custom phone cases.  I have quite a selection of cases already so decided instead of adding to my already growing collection I would order one for my dear friend Marie.  She has been sporting a rather old and tired looking case for some time now so it was time for her phone to receive a little makeover.

image sourced from Google images.

I popped over to their website to check out their designs and was pleased with the selection they had available.  You have the option of adding your own image or selecting one of their designs on the site.  You also have the option to personalise it too by adding some text to the case.

It was very easy to use.  Once your image has been uploaded or selected you are given an outline of the phone case so you can place the image exactly where you want it to be and can see what it will look like once printed.  I liked having this option as it meant your image didn't have to be central if you didn't want it to be, making each case one of a kind.

I kept it simple and chose one of their own designs and didn't add any text, I didn't feel that it was needed, but I did have a play around with it to see how it would work and was impressed with this feature.

Once submitting my order I was emailed by the team to confirm my order and then again to let me know the order had been dispatched.  The delivery was very quick, the case was received within a couple of days.  Overall I couldn't fault this product at all.  A great website, fast and efficient delivery and a lovely product at the end of it.  Marie was most pleased. and her phone is looking fab :).

So if your phone is in need of a little makeover why not check out their website here.  The team have kindly offered 10% discount to my readers, all you need to do is enter the code "Thanku10" at the payment stage when ordering your new case

Cooking Up A Storm in the Kitchen

Having looked at all the rooms in my little home, the one room that hasn't been visited is the kitchen.

In some homes it is known as the heart of the home, not the case in my world.  I'm really not a fan of cooking, that is James' department.  The item I use the most in the kitchen is the washing machine, second to that the kettle, but hardly ever the oven.  I do the odd bit of baking and I would love to do more, but maybe after the wedding once I have some more spare time on my hands (just in time for Christmas though mind you (excuse me for using the C word in May!) ).

When it came to moving in all of our belongings we noticed that we had no kitchen drawers, yep not even 1.  Fortunately we had enough space to fit in a butchers block that had 2 drawers in it plus it was some extra surface space too.

This is the one room that has escaped my floral touches.  In fact it is the only room, apart from the hallway but I don't think you could count that as a room in this house, it's tiny.  I have added some little touches though such as the fabric curtain on the butchers block, the carrier bag holder (made by me) oven gloves (OK, they may have  a slight floral touch) and some small paint jobs on the spice rack and kitchen roll holder.

I've tried bringing in some colour as much as possible in this room, mainly blues and red's to match our dinner set.  Got to keep it all coordinating.  I'm not a fan of chrome so we have gone for a red bin again adding to the colour, and did have a red kettle until that broke and so we have opted for a white plastic one, not my first choice but it boils water so I can't complain.

I had always worried about renting before.  Being unsure how we could make it feel like our own.  If it is one thing that I have learnt from living here it's that you don't have to own your house for it to feel like home.  We have been able to make thins place feel like ours without painting any of the walls or adding wallpaper.  The furniture and accessories are totally what have made it feel like home.  So when the time comes that we will have to move out of this house, as sad as I will feel to have to leave this little beaut of a place behind us, at least I know our home will be moving with us to the new location.

Bee School

For the past couple of months I have been learning all about honey bee's.  I have wanted to keep bee's for a fair few years now so after seeing a taster session advertised in the local paper last year I jumped at the chance to get involved.  I loved it and was keen to find out how I could get more involved.

The theory course ran throughout February and March.  I learnt so much, who knew there was so much to know about bees?  They are such fascinating little creatures.  So with the theory course now complete, I even got a certificate to prove it.  It is now onto the practical sessions.

The first practical session was on Sunday.  I started off learning how to make a frame (these go into the hive and depending where it is in the hive will depend on it's use, either for laying eggs, or storing pollen and honey).

The second part was looking at the different kinds of bee hive's and other equipment needed for bee keeping.  And then it was off to look at some working hives.  I find it all so amazing, watching them work is just incredible.

I have learnt so much already and can't wait to get my own hive of bee's to look after.

The funny thing about it all is that I can't stand honey, which means there will be plenty of that to go around all being well :)

So, who's for a jar of honey?
